CLOC Quick and Easy Set-Up

Synergistech's Configurable Light Output Controller (CLOC) is ideal for either a first time user or a highly experienced machine vision engineer. The CLOC features seamless integration as it can be easily added to any machine vision system.

The CLOC installs between the vision processor and the light sources. Once in place, inputting of a series of simple programming commands allows you to quickly and easily implement enhanced lighting techniques that would not otherwise be possible.

The CLOC comes with two different programming environments, it can be set to run via a user supplied terminal emulation program or can operate under Microsoft Windows. After installing the software and reading programming manual the CLOC is a breeze to configure. Sample programs are included with the documentation to make the task of programming even easier.

 

Control Packs & Power Supplies Simultaneously The CLOC is equipped with twelve (12) programmable outputs to strobe sources and four (4) camera input triggers which have the capability of firing any of these strobes in any of up to ten programmable sequences. This makes structured lighting setups user friendly and flexible.

Flexible Lighting

Essential for machine vision application and integration is the proper installation, setup and control of strobe lights. Correct part illumination allows the vision camera to capture a good, clean product image for the inspection process. As the vision systems themselves become more and more sophisticated, the need to be able to quickly and easily develop flexible lighting techniques becomes more apparent every day. The CLOC allows the machine vision user to dedicate separate lighting techniques for different part features, while ensuring that individual lighting techniques do not interfere with one another.

Capture Multiple Images

cloc2.gif - 24.4 K The CLOC was developed for small part inspection where part features are difficult to illuminate with a single lighting technique. In high speed vision inspection applications, where numerous part characteristics may need inspection, the employment of one lighting technique can be limiting and often times restricts the capture of acceptable part images. The CLOC allows you to dedicate different lighting techniques to different features of a part, thus permitting the capture of multiple images for the inspection process.

cloc3.gif - 38.1 K As an example, suppose a part's particular charasteristic is best illuminated with a backlight. However, it also requires multiple snaps of the camera to gather all the necessary images of the part. The feature you wish to backlight is only present in the second snap of the camera and the rest of the camera images would be illuminated perfectly with a ringlight. The ringlight however does not illuminate the feature that you want to backlight. By using the CLOC you can program the system to automatically backlight the one feature in the second snap of the camera, and not fire the backlight in any of the other snaps. The CLOC allows you to custom configure the lighting setup which leads to superior inspection accuracy and repeatability.
